About

177The Royal Canadian Legion is one of the largest community service organizations with grass-roots origins responding to communities needs since 1926, particularly veterans, seniors and youth.
Our aim is to provide a facility and social events (basically at cost) to the people of the community that otherwise might have no social outlet due to the structure, etc. of our island where facilities are limited. Such activities include: yearly Poster and Literary Awards function to recognize school children who participate in the Remembrance Day Service activity, Candle Light Service remembering and honouring of Veterans which involve all the school children and teachers of the Pender Island School,  D.V.A. open house and information seminar for veterans, Mother’s Day Brunch,
